Los Citroën Tracción eran de línea muy moderna para su tiempo. En España popularmente se les conoció por el apodo de “pato”, por la semejanza que con el animal tenían al ser bajos y «espatarrados».

La carrocería es obra de un escultor italiano, Flaminio Bertoni, que realizaba sus primeros trabajos en el automóvil.

Su aparición es un hito en la historia del automóvil, ya que se trataba del primer vehículo de gran serie realizado sobre una carrocería autoportante.

La incorporación en 1952 de una tapa de maletero, al que se incorpora la placa de matrícula, confiere al modelo una mayor capacidad y una estética más acorde con los tiempos.

Entró en la historia el 25 de julio de 1957, tras haberse fabricado 759.123 unidades de diversas versiones a lo largo de 23 años.

Nuestro vehículo data de 1955 y es la versión familiar, la más larga y espaciosa. Es bicolor en blanco crema y negro.

«El rey de la carretera» Cuando André Citroën presentó este modelo en 1934 nadie pensaba que tuviese tan larga y exitosa vida. Incorporaba los últimos adelantos del momento anticipándose a su época: Tracción delantera, chasis monocasco de acero, suspensión independiente para cada rueda, motor potente, ligero y fiable con válvulas en cabeza y frenos hidráulicos. Tenía un incomparable comportamiento en ruta, habitabilidad interior y una excelente fiabilidad y seguridad para su época.

Nuestro vehículo data de 1949 y se encuentra en un excelente estado. Ha sido completamente restaurado. Desmontada toda la carrocería, dispone de pintura bicolor nueva azul y beige, Se han sustituido gomas, conexiones eléctricas y el motor se ha reconstruido por completo. Se trata de la mecánica modelo 11D de camisas más potente y fiable. El interior se ha renovado completamente con pintura del salpicadero y marcos interiores, tapizado de guarnecidos, techo, asientos y enmoquetado con telas de máxima calidad también en combinaciones azul y beige.
